Strip cutting for MS machine cutting torches increases efficiency and
reduces distortion when cutting sheet material into narrow strips.
Modern oxyfuel flame cutting machines are equipped with motorised torch height adjustments which, when positioned together, give a minimum clearance width of around 140mm. Therefore, strips of sheet narrower than 140mm have to be flame cut in two operations which means dimensional inaccuracies and distortion.
Through thermal input on both sides, the strips of sheet remain absolutely straight and maintain dimensional accuracy. With the strip cutting torch, sheets can be cut into strips measuring from 30 to 400mm wide. It is suitable for material from 3 to 60mm thick.
